With four visits from 2000 to recent, spending over six months in total, I have been photographing the Western Australian landscape and its' inhabitants, with a particular interest in people emigrating to, and looking to leave WA.
Showing images here from two pieces of work:
- a reportage into the dangers of motocross for young riders.
- an investigation into Yorkshire parents who have transitioned from youth culture to a more responsible role and the clues of their previous lives.
Travel - Azores
A place that I have had an interest in for some time, remote on the junction of three active tectonic plates in the mid Atlantic Ocean, made it there on my second attempt.
Contrasting images from North and South of the Scottish Border which my family is split across.
Travel - France
Images from a number of trips to the infamous French Riviera, where it is still possible to find peace and beauty amid the coastal sprawl.
Travel - Iceland
Each journey to Iceland takes me a little further into this amazing country with it's barren moonscapes and volcanic turmoil.
A year split across Bradford in Yorkshire and Western Australia led me to photograph in similar ways these quite different urban environments.
The images here are from WA.
For just a few days or hours, cities across the UK are transformed from their usual urban landscapes into festivals celebrating a more vibrant nature of the city, linking them with festivals across the globe.
Travel - Italy
The Venetian archipelago can be seen in a different light when based away from the international tourist hotspots.
From out on Lido where the holiday makers are mainly Italian, the islands can be visited by boat without the frenzy caused by Venice's incredible main attractions.
